Acock Green Infants

I found this awesome picture in my grandads old album, its the Acock Green Infants in 1925, clearly putting on a production of 'Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross'
Seated on the far left is my Grandmother

I just love the outfits and the girl on the rocking horse is amazing, I had to save some detail crops

Death

When God is gone and the Devil takes hold,
who will have mercy on your soul

Oh, Death

No wealth, no ruin, no silver, no gold
Nothing satisfies me but your soul

Family Album

Here is something I made whilst scanning in some old family pictures, I was just fiddling around with the idea of an old album page.
I love the big frames/pages around these portraits, I think they may be brother and sister

New pictures

I bought two new pictures from an antique shop in Malvern last week, They're very pretty and will definately come in useful for my work
This one has such a hugh, awesome frame, I just had to get it

And I liked the more delicate frame around this one

And here are afew more from my collection that I had forgotten about and unearthed from the depths of my student room
These two boys will be appearing in my work very soon,

And I love this one of Indian siblings, taken in 1925, I love how happy they look, and they're dusty raggedy clothes make a change from my usual super rich children in furs and jewels

todays finds at the Flea Market

Went to a fantastic Flea Market today, it was HUGE and although I had limited funds, I managed to bring back some really lovely stuff, as well as the following I also got a gorgeous 1930s black crepe dress, which I will photograph later on. There was a fantastic selection of photographs, here are the ones I bought, most of them are French, two are English.
'Little Ghost' I adore this spooky looking child

This girl looks quite ill for her first communion

Really nice family group, I like the baby chewing on his hand!

I thought the backdrop for this was stunning

This old woman is the perfect representation of how I see the Woman in Black, how stunning are her cape and bonnet

As well as the dress and these photos, I found a bag of 1950s paper dolls, with alot of hand painted cut out clothes to go with them, here is a small selection of the bag, which has loads and loads in! I use these kinds of things in my mixed media collages, so I mainly bought them as raw materials for my work, but there are some lovely things here.
These two are a from a group of about 6 or 7 of these quite large full dolls, when I have my own place I will have them all lined up on the wall.

here are a few of the hand done clothes for the paper dolls

And lastly my favourite one, this little petticoat

House Clearance Finds

I went to my local House Clearace shop today, they had some nice old pictures, nothing super special, but two lovely ones of a little girl called Marjory showing off two different outfits, the picture cards were sent to her Daddy in December 1914. Prehaps he was away in the war?

and I loved this one, the childrens costumes are really nice, and I love set up pictures like these

And finally some dashing Gents, I will use these pictures for my mixed media artwork, as I love the frames around them.
